David supports individuals through life’s challenges by helping them to understand how they process the world around them, and how our life experience shapes how we think, feel and behave. David works closely with clients to identify where change can happen, and how individuals can find their autonomy to work towards their personal goals. David’s experience supporting individuals with chronic illness and who have experienced grief, enables him to create a safe space to explore co-existence with our emotions and our storied histories.

I believe that individuals and families possess the strength to manage challenges, develop new skills and strategies, and build healthy, happy relationships. My goal is to help you create space to recognize your positive resources and work towards improving more challenging areas. My approach is non-judgemental, empathetic, and collaborative. Together we will create an understanding of the challenges you would like to work on and develop a plan to move towards achieving those goals. My personal experiences have influenced my strong belief in our power to locate our internal sources of strength, evoke change, and create new paths to understand and accept ourselves and our loved ones.

I am a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have more than 15 years of experience working with youth & families in diverse environments including group homes, lived-in treatment, day treatment classrooms, family outreach, youth justice, crisis services, and private counselling.
